Greenpeace launched it’s “Behind the logo” initiative to help rebrand BP with a logo that suits the company better. As a resident of Florida, I am disgusted I’m with these assholes. What has happen to us? Really. It seems like our lives are in the hands of irresponsible corporations and we are not doing anything about it. On my way into work I passed a BP gas station. There were people at the pump. These guys are bigger assholes and more irresponsible for buying gas at BP. We the people have turned into a 5 ton elephant anchored to the ground by a small chain. Fight back and hit them where it hurts. Don’t by gas at BP.
I’m very excited to announce that the Thomas & Gray logo made the How Design top 10 logos of 2010. Jeff Fishers had the task of going through over 800 submissions and narrowing it down to the top 10 winning logos. It was an honor and a privilege to be ranked as what Jeff Fisher calls the the best of the best. Chick here to read the full article on How Design. You can also read the step by step walk through on how I designed the Thomas & Gray logo.
The 6emeia project by Brazilian street artist Anderson Augusto and Leonardo Delafuente makes great use of the texture and its surroundings to create some fun and compelling street art. This is a technique that should be use in designing for out door mediums. I think it’s fun and unexpected. I find this to be more engaging the your standard outdoor billboard. Check the images below.
Eat your heart out Wonder Woman, The Shell Helix Ultra Transparent car is nothing short of science-fiction come to life. This video shows the behind the scenes look on how the advertising agency JWT designed and produced the transparent Nissan 370Z. The commercial used no CGI for the car itself and instead employed Asylum Models and Effects to actually make all the parts of this Nissan from scratch. I do find it a bit ironic that Shell is anything but transparent.
