Guerra de la Paz is the composite name of Cuban born, American artist duo Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz. The two have been collaborating since 1996 to produce some amazing art. Guerra de la Paz work in sculpture, installation and photography. Their work references the politics of modern conflict and consumerism alongside symbols of faith; they often use old clothing to build their sculptures. The images below and their website are worth checking out.

The 6emeia Project: Brazil’s Fun And Compelling Street Art

The 6emeia project by Brazilian street artist Anderson Augusto and Leonardo Delafuente makes great use of the texture and its surroundings to create some fun and compelling street art. This is a technique that should be use in designing for out door mediums. I think it’s fun and unexpected. I find this to be more engaging the your standard outdoor billboard. It’s pretty much the same concept with the exception that illustrator Ben Heine blends real life space with his Illustrations. I thought these were cool and worth sharing. Bryan Berg was commissioned to help reinvent the Holiday Inn brand and to celebrate the reopening of 1,200 hotels worldwide.  To do so, he built this 400 square foot masterpiece he calls “Holiday Inn’s Key Card Hotel.”  As you can see from the sideshow below, Everything is made from from key cards. It’s a fascinating technique that consists obstructing some part of the body with an album sleeve and photographing it The end result is a sleeve face photo that blends real life space with the 2D printed art work of an album sleeve. I’m sure I’ve done a shitty job of explaining it so I’ll shut up and let you take a look at this fascinating sleeve face slide show.
