Greenpeace launched it’s “Behind the logo” initiative to help rebrand BP with a logo that suits the company better. As a resident of Florida, I am disgusted I’m with these assholes. What has happen to us? Really. It seems like our lives are in the hands of irresponsible corporations and we are not doing anything about it. On my way into work I passed a BP gas station. There were people at the pump. These guys are bigger assholes and more irresponsible for buying gas at BP. We the people have turned into a 5 ton elephant anchored to the ground by a small chain. Fight back and hit them where it hurts. Don’t by gas at BP.
I’m very excited to announce that the Thomas & Gray logo made the How Design top 10 logos of 2010. Jeff Fishers had the task of going through over 800 submissions and narrowing it down to the top 10 winning logos. It was an honor and a privilege to be ranked as what Jeff Fisher calls the the best of the best. Chick here to read the full article on How Design. You can also read the step by step walk through on how I designed the Thomas & Gray logo.
This is a short film that was directed by the French animation collective H5. It was presented at the Cannes Film Festival 2009. It opened the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won a 2010 academy award under the category of animated short. It’s pretty the world we live in. The dialog reminds me of that of Pulp Fiction. For mature audience. Below is part 2.
Designing a logo can be a painful, drawn out process. For the AWIARE logo (The Alliance for Weedon Island Archaeological Research and Education) inspiration came quickly. Weedon Island and its Archaeological Research Center are truly unique. After visiting the center, I felt privileged to design a logo for such an amazing place. I’d like to share the thought process behind the design of the AWIARE logo.
As if labeling Obama’s health care plan as socialist isn’t bad enough, conservatives like Rush Limbaugh are comparing Obama’s new health care logo to a Nazi swastika symbol. The health care logo contains the original Obama hope icon with an added caduceus (an ancient Greek symbol of medicine). I think both logos are similar in composition but to suggest that Obama’s health care logo is right out of Adolph Hitler’s playbook is nothing short of propaganda. Below are both logos side by side. What do you think? Does Obama’s new health care logo resemble a Nazi swastika symbol? Leave a comment and cast your vote.
